I regularly get asked how exactly I create my work, so I thought it would be best to
showcase this here

 

I am a digital painter.

I do a lot of sketching when out and about and if I'm really happy with something I'll scan this in, but most pieces are created from start to finish directly hand painting on to my computer with a graphics tablet.

This is pretty much the same process as painting traditionally, however there is no physical piece.

Each artwork usually takes me around 6 - 10 hours to complete. High detail concept illustration pieces can take well over 20.

I usually take quite a lot of process shots when I paint. This is helpful to me as I can look back and see how a piece progressed. Below you'll find my process images of various stages of a recent pet portrait of ‘Maya’
